The Surf Camp that
Actually Teaches
Kids to Surf.
While sand castle building is fun and all, we just figure that most parents would rather have us stick to what we do best: teach surfing. Although there seems to be a few “surf camps” where kids never learn to surf, we’re proud to say we aren’t one of them. While we do integrate some fun games and activities, our team makes it a priority to keep kids in the water for the majority of the camp session.
The Half-Day Advantage
With 15+ years of surf coaching experience, we’ve found that the half-day surf camp is effective in the way it:
- Prevents “beach camp burnout”
- Keeps kids excited about coming back for the next camp session
- Allows us to keep a surf-centric approach
When our goal is to spread a love for surfing, the last thing we want to do is burn kids out on it. Our 3-hour session (with a short lunch break), really allows us to keep surfing the main focus, without needing to result to other filler activities.
Campus Point:
An Ideal Kids Wave
Many agree that of all the breaks across Santa Barbara, Campus Point is the safest and most beginner friendly beach. If the surf is a bit bigger, we have the freedom to move the surf camp just around the corner to the Poles surf break. This option allows us to prioritize safety, hand picking the best waves in all types of summer surf conditions.
